The book "A Grande Loja de Narizes" (The Great Nose Shop) tells the story of a character who is the owner and heir of a long-established shop that makes and sells noses.
The author envisioned the shop with an old-fashioned, classic atmosphere, including vintage wallpaper and traditional details. I decided to create a visual identity inspired by the old houses of São Paulo, the city where I live and the largest city in Brazil. To design the shop, I collected photographs of traditional houses in the city and created a collage by combining different architectural elements — the window from one house, the door from another, and so on — to build a new house with its own character.
For the main character, I imagined a man with a large nose and a serious appearance, but with a kind and caring personality. Since the shop had been part of the neighborhood for decades, I wanted him to feel like a familiar and welcoming presence in the community.
For the color palette, I chose soft, classic pastel tones inspired by the 1950s. At the same time, I introduced brighter colors into the contemporary characters’ clothing, creating a contrast between the nostalgic atmosphere of the shop and the present-day world around it.
