This is the second illustration of a serie of my life in Japan.
Christmas in Japan is different from the most of the countries that celebrate this holiday.
Buddhist are the majority in Japan, there are few Christians in the country so we don't see images of Jesus or nativity scene, only the festives trees, some gifts and Christmas products in the shopping mall.
There are some different and peculiar traditions in Japan like eating a strawberry cake and fried chicken of KFC, yes KFC! Kentucky Fried Chicken on Christmas has been sold as a traditional food of 25th December since 1970s because of a huge marketing campaing. For that reason KFC stores are so crowded and it's so hard to buy some fried chicken on this day, KFC created a system to preorder.
I intend with this illustration series show a little about japanese culture and my experience as an immigrant living in a contryside.
